Research Interests
Dr. Hall's research has focused on clinical questions that will provide knowledge to develop novel, effective exercise interventions to reduce impairments related to dizziness and imbalance. Her research focuses on getting a better understanding of 1) age-related changes in balance control (both normal and pathological) and 2) how to therapeutically intervene to prevent loss of mobility and falls. Dr. Hall has been studying various risk factors impacting mobility and falls for several years. Her research to this point has examined the contributions of the motor (lower extremity strength and power), sensory (visual and vestibular), and cognitive function to balance control in older adults. Current research projects focus on developing novel interventions to reduce dizziness and fall risk in older adults. One study is designing and developing a mobile gamified vestibular rehabilitation home program. Another study is examining personal factors and clinical management strategies associated with successful outcomes of post-concussive dizziness in Veterans with traumatic brain injury.
