Volunteer for Research
The Hearing and Balance Research Program seeks to enhance the quality of life for Veterans with hearing and balance disorders. We are always looking for volunteers to help us advance out research for our Veterans. There is no charge to participate and you may receive a copy of your hearing and balance results.
Subject Recruitment Registry
This project is a database of hearing and demographic information that helps researchers select potential participants for future studies. We are always accepting volunteers. We often need volunteers who have hearing or balance difficulties; however, volunteers without these difficulties are encouraged to participate as well. By signing up for the Subject Recruitment Registry, your participation helps to improve healthcare for Veterans and others suffering from hearing loss and balance disorders.
As of November 2019, the Hearing and Balance Research Program has over 1,306 volunteers signed up for the Subject Recruitment Registry and 697 of them are Veterans!
How Do I Sign Up?
You can sign up to participate in these research opportunities in two ways:
1. Call 423-926-1171 extension 7554 to schedule a Research Appointment. Consent paperwork will be filled out at this appointment.
2. Next time you are at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, you can stop by the Audiology Department and tell the person at the front desk that you are interested in signing up for research. They will help you get started.
